In 1999, the Giheung Line commemorated the exceeding of the production of 5 million TFT-LCDs.
  • 01 - Developed 24-inch wide TFT-LCD for the first time in the world
  • 08 - Developed 16.5-inch SXGA+ TFT-LCD for laptop and PC Produced a total of five million TFT-LCDs

In 1997, the mass production of XGA TFT LCD for monitors was celebrated by the AMLCD division.

On 9 February 1995, at Samsung Electronics' Giheung Plant, Lee Yunwoo, Vice President of Technology, and executives and employees of Samsung Electronics held a tape cutting ceremony to congratulate the completion of the TFT-LCD mass-production plant.

In 1993, Lee Sangwan, the head of Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology and Vice President Lee Yunwoo, along with executives and employees, celebrated the first overseas shipment of 9.4-inch Thin Film Transistor-Liquid Crystal Display (TFT-LCD).
